Cicadula quadrinotata
Length 4 to 5 mm. Cicadula is a large and difficult genus of yellow-green leafhoppers, frequently with black spots on the vertex and rather long antennae. Dissection of males is required for definitive identification.
Females cannot be distinguished from similar species. Males can be identified by microscopic examination of genitalia.
In damp grasslands where it is associated with rushes and sedges.
Summer-Autumn.
Widespread in Britain.
Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland.
