Mitostoma chrysomelas

Description

This harvestman is recognised by the long pedipalps held folded in front of the body. The body is around 3 mm in length and brown, with golden transverse lines.

Life History

The pedipalps are covered in sticky hairs called 'viscid seta' which help with the capture of prey.

Uncommon but widely distributed.
