Dandelion flowers are popping up all over grasslands at the moment. They are a vital food source for early season pollinators and the more Dandelions the better! But did you know that there are 240 species of Dandelion in Britain? A new book, Britain's Dandelions: A Photographic Guide by Jon Holt, calls itself a photographic guide to over 210 species of Britain’s 240 dandelions belonging to the genus Taraxacum. However, it's more than that with five pictures including line drawings and key identification features included for each species. Be warned, they're not easy to identify, but if you fancy a real challenge, this is for you.
