The NatureSpot Photo of the Month for April is this image of a Green Hairstreak, taken by NatureSpot contributor E. Gaten. More...
The Green Hairstreak is an unmistakeable small, bright metallic green butterfly. They always settle with their wings closed, but they don't settle that often so they're not the easiest butterfly to photograph. In addition, the Green Hairstreak is one of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) Indicator Species. With a relatively short flight period, now is the time to go out and find them.
