The UK Biological Records Centre has just published its Science Review 2026. This covers 110 different recording schemes, 25,536 different species, 168,665 1km grids sampled and 144,367,807 records. The data is used in areas such as:
- Species trends - complex long-term biodiversity change in under-studied groups such as invertebrates, bryophytes and lichens
- Extinction risks from climate change
- Invasive species and disease
- Land use and pollution
Every record you contribute to iRecord (via NatureSpot) helps with this work. Thank you.
