Javesella dubia
Length c. 2.5 - 3.5 mm). Both macropterous and brachypterous forms exist, and colouration varies. The forewing is brown, and has an asymmetrical apex. The frons is dark with paler keels. Males tend to be darker than females. Male genital segment at tip of abdomen, viewed from side, has a nearly straight edge. Dissecton of male genitalia is needed to confirm ID.
Javesella is a difficult genus, and care is needed to separate species.
Dissection of male genitalia is advised for verification. Good quality photos of a specimen from top down will support ID, plus detailed photographs of genital segment of male from top/side/rear. Note habitat and host-plant.
On grasses especially in woodlands
Adult: May to September.
